In short: a wide, adjustable ring in solid bronze, gilded with fine gold and shaped by hand in Dakar. Two bars side by side on a single band: one smooth and polished, the other in relief. It fits any finger size, with no size to choose. Its name, Niari Tali, means "two roads" in Wolof. A unisex piece that gets noticed without overdoing it, and tells a story every time someone looks.

Niari Tali, two roads

In Wolof, niari tali means "two roads". It is also the name of a district of Dakar, built around two parallel streets lined with markets and street life. This ring takes up that drawing: two lines moving forward together without merging. The first is polished, even. The second keeps the uneven surface of metal worked by hand.

Two roads is also the story of many of us: one foot on the continent, one foot in the diaspora, two paths that do not oppose each other but move forward together. To wear the Niari Tali is to carry that double belonging on your finger, with pride.

Why people take to it

  • Adjustable, for any finger: it fits any finger size. No size to guess; it is worn on the index, middle or ring finger, and can be given with no risk of getting it wrong.
  • Real presence: wide and graphic, it is enough on its own to dress the hand.
  • A warm shine that lasts: the solid bronze is gilded with fine gold, which gives it its color and protects the metal.
  • A singular piece: the relief of the second bar is worked by hand, so no two rings are alike.
  • A unisex piece: it is worn by men and women alike.
  • A name that means something: Wolof, from Dakar, from Africa — something to tell when people ask where it came from.

Shaped by hand in Dakar

The Niari Tali ring is shaped by Moustapha, a jeweler at Soumbédioune, on the Dakar corniche. The bronze is melted, formed and then finished by hand: that is where the relief of the second bar comes from, never the same from one ring to the next. The piece is then gilded with fine gold, which gives it its warm shine. We have worked with him since 2025: meet our artisans.

How to wear it

Its width asks for little company: worn alone on the index or middle finger, it is enough. On a hand already wearing rings, keep it apart from the others so both bars stay legible. It makes a handsome contrast with silver, such as the Senu ring in sterling silver, which takes up the same idea of two lines, or the Ptah ring. At the wrist, it goes with the Lamou Ndiaxass Signature bracelet, shaped in the same workshop.

Frequently asked questions

What size should I choose?

None: the ring is adjustable and fits any finger size. You simply open or tighten the band gently with your fingers so that it sits perfectly, on the index, middle or ring finger.

What does Niari Tali mean?

"Two roads" in Wolof. It is also the name of a district of Dakar, laid out around two parallel streets, whose drawing the ring takes up.

Is the ring gold?

No. The body is solid bronze, covered with fine gold powder that gives it its color and shine.

Is it a woman's or a man's ring?

Both. All our jewelry is unisex, and as it is adjustable, it suits every hand.

Are the two bars identical from one ring to the next?

No. The relief is worked by hand: each piece has its own drawing.

Does the bronze darken?

The fine gold finish protects the metal. A soft cloth is enough to bring the shine back if the ring dulls over time.

Can I give it as a gift?

Yes, and one that lands, all the more so because it is adjustable: no need to know the person's size. For a man it is the ideal ring: wide, plain, unfussy, stating a style without overdoing it. For a woman it is a graphic, luminous piece worn alone or with other rings. Either way, its Wolof name and its Dakar story come with the giving: two roads moving forward together, a fine message for someone close, for a couple, or for someone living between two countries. Perfect for a birthday, Christmas, Mother's or Father's Day.

How do I care for it?

Wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wearing. Take it off before showering, swimming, and applying perfume or cream. Use no abrasive product and no polishing paste: the gilded finish is maintained by gentle rubbing alone. Avoid opening and closing the band too often: adjust it once to your finger, then leave it as it is.

Can I see it before buying?

Yes, at Kama The Shop, 51 rue Vauvenargues, Paris 18th, Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Online, you have 14 days after delivery to withdraw from your purchase.
