A curve. A circle. A light that naturally draws the eye.

FOLÓLO is an original earring that makes itself felt without forcing anything. Its form reads at once: graphic, balanced, luminous. It does not try to do too much. It is there, and that is enough.

These are African earrings shaped by hand in Africa, in bronze with a gold gilding. A piece made for women who know what they want to wear, and who are looking for something exact, recognizable, worn on purpose. Their graphic silhouette brings something to an outfit immediately: a point of light, a presence, a balance.

The FOLÓLO design

FOLÓLO is the second design in the Aldiana collection. Its name comes from Lingala: folólo means flower. It suggests lightness, balance and natural beauty, without claiming that the shape represents any particular flower.

The form brings together three elements: a hammered half-moon, a circle and a horizontal bar. It is not a claimed traditional symbol but a design choice, built around geometry and movement. The hammered texture of the half-moon catches the light differently depending on the angle, which gives FOLÓLO a living presence, never fixed.

FOLÓLO is rounder, brighter and softer than the NIT design. Where NIT is angular and assertive, FOLÓLO is fluid and open. Both share the same standard of making and differ in character.

FOLÓLO and style

With a white shirt, FOLÓLO becomes the only accessory you need. With a black dress or an off-the-shoulder top, it creates a warm point of light, visible at once. With a handwoven outfit, it extends the identity of the clothes without crowding them. With short or pinned-up hair, it clears the profile and becomes the focal point.

In the evening, the gilding catches the light and gives the face a particular glow. Day to day, the graphic form frames the face without weighing down the outfit. FOLÓLO works in both registers: that is what makes it a useful piece, not merely a beautiful one.

Why choose FOLÓLO?

Because it has character without being cumbersome. Because it is well finished, shaped by hand by artisans who know bronze. Because you do not see it everywhere.

It is also a piece for those who like to know where what they wear comes from: who made it, how, and in which workshop. With FOLÓLO, those answers exist.

Shaped by hand in Africa

FOLÓLO is made by hand by Moustapha and his team, artisans who specialize in bronze, in small batches. The metal is melted, cast, then worked by hand to reach its final form. The texture of the half-moon comes from direct hammering: each pair is unique in its surface detail. That is not a flaw, it is the signature of handwork.

Bronze and the gold gilding

The gilding gives FOLÓLO a warm, deep glow that flatters the face on every skin tone. Bronze, an alloy of copper and tin, is sturdy: it has substance without being heavy, and FOLÓLO can be worn all day without discomfort.

Care

A soft cloth is enough for everyday care. To bring back the shine of the gilding, a metal polish applied with a cloth restores the original luster in a few minutes. Take your earrings off before showering or swimming.

Fair pay

Kaolack Créations works directly with Moustapha and his team, with no middleman. We work with each of them directly, over the long term, and we pay the price they set.

Frequently asked questions

Are FOLÓLO earrings made in Africa?

Yes. They are shaped by hand in Africa by Moustapha and his team, artisans who specialize in bronze.

What does FOLÓLO mean?

Folólo means flower in Lingala. The name was chosen for the open, luminous shape of the piece.

Is FOLÓLO a traditional symbol?

No. Its form (hammered half-moon, circle and horizontal bar) is a design choice, not a claimed traditional symbol.

What metal are they made of?

Bronze, an alloy of copper and tin, with a gold gilding.

Can they be worn every day?

Yes. Bronze is sturdy and the finish stands up to regular wear; simply take them off before showering.

What is the difference between FOLÓLO and NIT?

NIT is angular and assertive, with a vertical silhouette. FOLÓLO is rounder, brighter, softer. Same workshop, same bronze, same finish: it comes down to personal style.

Can I return earrings?

Yes. Like all our pieces, they come with 14 days to change your mind after delivery. Send them back unworn, in their original packaging.

Can I give them as a gift?

Yes, an ideal gift for a woman. With no size to guess, FOLÓLO is an original piece you will not come across everywhere: just the thing for a mother, a sister, a friend or a partner, for a birthday, Christmas or Mother's Day.

Can I see them before buying?

Yes, at our shop Kama The Shop, 51 rue Vauvenargues, Paris 18th.

The Aldiana collection

FOLÓLO joins NIT and AYEWA in the Aldiana collection: contemporary African jewelry in bronze gilded with gold, shaped by hand in the same workshop. Each design has its own name, its own personality and its own visual language.

Wear it with

For a harmonious set, FOLÓLO goes with the Lamou Ndiaxass bracelet, the polished bronze bangle, the Ankh necklace or the Sankofa necklace. For a complete outfit, it goes with the Yaa pencil skirt in Ashanti kente, woven by hand.
