€77 for a dress in genuine 100% cotton Senoufo cloth: handwoven in Waraniéné near Korhogo, then cut and sewn by Mame Rone in Senegal. A roomy straight cut, two pockets and lagoon-blue or coral-red colors create an outfit in one piece.

This women's dress in genuine Senufo handwoven cloth is made of 100% cotton, from cloth woven by hand in Waraniené, a weaving village near Korhogo in northern Côte d'Ivoire.

The cloths are then entrusted to Mame Rone, artisan tailor in Rufisque, Senegal, who makes each dress in his workshop.

Its straight, roomy cut gives great freedom of movement. Wear it loose for a relaxed style, or belted to define the silhouette as you like. Short sleeves, a round neck, two discreet side pockets and a covered-button closure at the back make for a careful finish, designed to be worn every day as well as for special occasions.

Available in Lagoon Blue or Coral Red, this dress is made from genuine 100% cotton Senufo handwoven cloth. The irregularities of the weave, the natural variations of the thread and the textile's characteristic texture bear witness to the weavers' skill. Each piece thus has a character of its own.

With its breathable cotton and comfortable cut, this dress easily sees you through the hottest days while keeping its shape. Worn with sneakers for a contemporary look, or with sandals and a belt for a dressier silhouette, it adapts to many occasions without losing the identity of its traditional cloth.

Why choose a dress in genuine Senufo handwoven cloth?

Senufo handwoven cloth stands out for the richness of its weave, the quality of its cotton and the nuances that appear naturally along the fibers. Unlike a printed fabric, its texture, irregularities and feel immediately reveal the weavers' skill.

At Kaolack Créations, each cloth is selected directly from the weavers of Waraniené, in Côte d'Ivoire. The cloths are then entrusted to Mame Rone, artisan tailor in Rufisque, Senegal, who makes each dress with the same standard of care and attention to finishing.

The straight cut gives a fluid silhouette that adapts naturally to different body shapes. Worn without a belt, the dress shows off the drape of the handwoven cloth. With a belt, it draws a more structured silhouette and goes as well with sneakers as with sandals or pumps.

The two colors, Lagoon Blue and Coral Red, express two different personalities while keeping the same traditional cloth, the same handmade tailoring and the same quality of finish. The large side pockets, short sleeves, round neck and discreet back closure complete a dress that is easy to wear every day as well as for an event.

This dress naturally joins our collection of African dresses and complements our pieces made in other traditional African textiles, such as our models in genuine indigo or in Léppi from Fouta Djallon. Each collection honors a specific textile skill, with respect for its origin and for the work of the artisans who carry it on.

Care

To preserve the quality of the weave and the natural brightness of the colors, we recommend a cold wash with similar colors.

Avoid the tumble dryer to keep the shape and texture of genuine Senufo handwoven cloth over time. Air-drying recommended.
