This women's tunic in Senufo woven African loincloth fabric is made from 100% local cotton. V-neck front and back, comfortable straight cut, neat finishes. A garment designed for the African and Afro-descendant diaspora who wish to reconnect with ancestral textile traditions while asserting a modern Afro chic style.

Origin and weaving

The Senufo loincloth fabric is woven in Waraniéré, a village in the Korhogo region, in northern Ivory Coast. The cotton is cultivated, spun, dyed and woven on site, according to know-how passed down within the Senufo people. Artisans weave narrow strips which they then assemble, creating sober and regular geometric patterns. Each tunic offered by Kaolack Créations comes from direct sourcing from Ismael Coulibaly, a renowned Senufo weaver from Waraniéré.
